day 2

Day 2 of attachment.
How did it go?

FUN!

The SN, EN and Sisters were all nice people. They didn't even scold me although i was a bit slow. Honestly, i was really blur for a start. I came into the the cubicle, with a very blank look. I had no idea who was my staff nurse in-charge until i asked my senior who happened to be working in the same cubicle as me. Then when i was about to be introduced to her, there came the hectic hours. She had to go and attend one of the patients. Other patients kept pressing the call-bell every now and then. Visitors kept approaching me, asking for my help - as though i KNOW and am familiar with everything. Padahal, aku belum kena lagi brief. Aku belum lagi tau mana tempat Utility, Preparation, Commode, Storeroom, just to grab the specific stuffs. Kiwaak! Today's main objective was ONLY to tail around the staff nurse, observe and learn (not do). But it was so hectic that staff nurse ke mana, aku pun ke mana. I ended getting lost! But i had fun learning new things on my own. Well, with a bit of supervision from my senior, of course. Must learn how to be independent, babe. Haha.

So, the things that i did today?

Also, i learned 2 new things today. I was supposed to learn it in year 2. But the EN thinks i'm capable of doing it. And these 2 things are......handling the IV drip and using the ECG machine. I was flabbergasted! Day 2 of attachment, first day doing hands on, and i'm already learning these things. Ain't that cool? So much for the trust from my EN. YAY!

Overall, i think i'm in love with my future career. I love the chaos. The first time i entered the ward, i already felt like as though i was in a movie or something. So similar like Grey's Anatomy, Scrubs, ER, etc. Plus, you will never feel bored easily. You'll tend to encounter new things at every hour. Very interesting, i tell you! (:

And oh! Not to forget, the hospital's food facilities. TTSH's the best! Knowing there was a Starbuck outlet in the hospital, i quickly went to attack the drinks after work. LOL! And tomorrow, i'll probably be attacking Delifrance for my break fast. There goes my money on FOOD! Muahahaha!

I am such a happy goober nurse working in Tan Tock Seng Hospital!

(And i even made friends with the non-related nursing people. which includes, a stranger - yeah, some passerby whom i bumped into when i was about to go home - and the starbuck workers. Nyeh!)
